Deck builder in Tampa Bay
We build composite and wood decks across Tampa Bay.
- Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon, Deckorators, MoistureShield
- Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee and Sarasota
- Fixed-price written quotes
Decks are the only thing we build. Most of the work that decides how long a deck lasts goes underneath, where nobody looks once the boards are down. We pour concrete footings instead of setting posts on blocks, frame at 12 inches on center so composite boards stay flat, and use stainless hardware near salt water.
Most of our jobs are composite decks, replacements of old pine decks, and railings and stairs. Every job starts with a site visit. After that you get a written price with each item listed, before anything gets torn out.
Deck services
How we build every deck
- Concrete footings dug and poured for each post, with posts held off the ground so they don't sit in water.
- Pressure-treated framing at 12 inches on center, stiffer than the common 16-inch spacing and better for composite boards and picture-frame borders.
- Metal connectors and fasteners sized for Florida wind loads, with stainless or coated hardware near the coast.
- Hidden fasteners or color-matched screws and plugs, so the deck surface stays clean.
- A picture-frame border and matching fascia on composite decks, so cut board ends never show.
- Permit, inspections and haul-off of all waste handled by us.

What our decks cost
These are two ground-level Trex decks we quoted in St. Pete Beach in 2026. Same specs: concrete footings, 6×6 posts, 2×8 framing at 12 inches on center, sand-colored Trex boards with a picture-frame border, matching fascia, hidden screws and plugs.
| Deck size | Area | Materials | Labor | Total | Per sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 16 × 12 | 192 sq ft | $3,889 | $4,000 | $7,889 | about $41 |
| 20 × 12 | 240 sq ft | $5,900 | $5,510 | $11,410 | about $48 |
Stairs, railings, lighting and pergolas are priced as add-ons. The deck cost guide shows what those cost and what moves the price up or down.
From first call to final inspection
- Call or send the form. Tell us the size, the material you like and whether there's an old deck to remove.

- Written fixed price. You get a line-item quote with materials, labor and each add-on listed separately.
- Permit. We draw the plan and pull the permit with your city or county.
- Build and inspect. Footings, framing and final inspections, then a walk-through with you before the last payment.

Common questions
How much does a deck cost in Tampa?
A ground-level composite deck with concrete footings, a picture-frame border and hidden fasteners has been coming in around $40 to $48 per square foot installed on our recent quotes. A 16×12 Trex deck quoted at $7,889 and a 20×12 at $11,410. Raised decks, railings, stairs and lighting add to that. See the Tampa deck cost guide for line-by-line numbers.
Do I need a permit for a deck in Tampa Bay?
Almost always. Attached decks, raised decks and most freestanding decks need a building permit in Tampa, St. Petersburg and unincorporated Hillsborough and Pinellas. We pull the permit and meet the inspector. Details are in our deck permit guide.
Composite or wood for a Florida deck?
Composite costs more up front but doesn't rot, splinter or need staining, which matters in Florida sun, rain and salt air. Pressure-treated pine is the budget option and still makes sense for some raised framing and rentals. Our composite vs. wood guide compares them side by side.
How long does it take to build a deck?
Most decks take one to two weeks of work on site once materials and the permit are in hand. Permit review usually adds two to four weeks before we start.
Which areas do you serve?
Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, the Pinellas beaches, Brandon, Riverview, Apollo Beach, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota and southern Pasco. See all service areas.
